NextGen Federal Systems Celebrates Grand Opening of Beavercreek Office

Beavercreek Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting

DAYTON, Ohio – NextGen Federal Systems celebrated the grand opening of its Beavercreek office Wednesday, the final step in the company’s expansion into the Dayton Region. U.S. Rep. Mike Turner, R-Dayton, spoke at the event congratulating the company on its move to the region and thanked NextGen for bringing jobs to Ohio. Joe Robertson, Dayton Operations leader, said the opening of the Beavercreek office represents an exciting new phase for the company.

“Our Beavercreek location gives us an opportunity to expand the work we do for the Air Force and its partners,” Robertson said. “We’re grateful for the support we’ve received from the Dayton Development Coalition, JobsOhio, Development Services Agency team, the Ohio Aerospace Hub, and our local partners. We couldn’t have asked for a better welcome.”

NextGen announced in December it was opening an office near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to support the company’s subcontract work on the 8-year Advanced Technical Exploitation Program with the National Air and Space Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

The Beavercreek expansion represents a major addition to the 55-person, employee-owned company. Over the past several months, NextGen worked hard to establish business in the Dayton Region and has already hired 13 full-time employees, as well as nine student interns from Wright State University.

NextGen has worked closely with the Small Business Administration’s HUBZone Program, created to encourage the participation of small businesses in government contracts. That assistance, Robertson said, has been vital to their growing success in the region. This program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities. NextGen already received $4 million HUBZone Direct Award earlier this year.

Upon opening their doors in 2010, NextGen focused initial efforts on support to the Army’s C4ISR Center of Excellence at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Adjacent to West Virginia University, the office in Morgantown, W.V. serves as its corporate headquarters.

NextGen founder Jay Reddy has a proven track record as a military contractor, and hopes to build on that history in Beavercreek. In 1997, Reddy founded ProLogic, an 8(a) business in Fairmont, W.V. with 17 offices nationwide. ProLogic grew to 350 employees, $300 million in prime contracts and $65 million in revenue. It was acquired by Ultra Electronics in 2008.
