As Chief Scientist/Engineer, Aurea L. Rivera provides NextGen and our corporate partners with key intelligence community mission context helping maximize corporate expertise and investments in support of our intelligence community client set. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez, Masters’ degrees in Systems Engineering from Wright State University and Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton. Aurea earned an MBA from Michigan Technological University and received a doctoral fellowship in Agricultural Economics from the Ohio State University. During her career in the support of the nation she served as Defense Intelligence Senior Leader (DISL) Technical Director for the Data Analysis Group at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). She had technical oversight over the Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) enterprise which provides the Center with key threat data in support of the NASIC’s acquisition, national, and warfighting customer sets. Among her many IC assignments, she served as Program Manager for Signatures at the Defense Intelligence Agency and as Chairperson for the Foreign Instrumentation Signals Senior Committee in support of the Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) Committee. She is a registered Professional Engineer (PE), a Project Manager Professional (PMP), and an Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). Aurea is the State of Ohio lead for the MATHCOUNTS’ competition and President-Elect of the Engineers Foundation of Ohio.
